Are you ready to elevate your journey in the public health field?
Mentorship Overview
Our Public Health Mentorship Program is a six month program, offered annually. Public health students and recent graduates have the opportunity to be paired with advanced professionals based upon their short, mid, and long-term public health goals. This program offers but is not limited to: resume review, a career development plan, goal setting, and more. Take your career to the next level by joining our public health mentorship cohort and receive one-on-one mentorship from a public health professional.
Why should you join our mentorship program?
Our mentorship program is designed to help you grow, connect, and step confidently into your future in public health. You’ll join a community of like-minded individuals, build meaningful connections across states, and gain access to tools and resources that support your career journey. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your resume and interview skills, build confidence in your presentation abilities, and develop a career plan and portfolio that reflects your goals and next steps.

“The mentorship program helped me to connect with someone (Ghecora) who saw me. She listened to what I needed and tailored her mentorship to support that. To have a stranger take interest in helping me succeed is a different level of compassion.”- Monique S., Mentee, Cohort 1
“I have absolutely loved conversations with my mentee, and have found that our experiences, interests, and career goals overlap in many areas. It has been my honor to be able to provide a listening ear, to share my experiences, and recommend recommendations when asked.”- M.B., Mentor, Cohort 2
“The SIPH Mentorship program gave me the push I needed to work towards creating my own nutrition consulting business. I was encouraged to form meaningful connections with people who are already doing the work I'd like to do someday. I also gained some confidence and skills in making decisions that will help me move along in my career.”- Hope V., Mentee, Cohort 2
“My overall experience with the Mentorship program has been nothing short of amazing. My mentor selection could not have been more perfect. In these past 6 months, I have felt so validated and built my confidence in being able to articulate my skills and accomplishments. I have finalized my resume. I have been connected with others in the field that has provided me advice about transitioning into a new public health role.”- Anonymous Mentee, Cohort 2
“My overall experience has been extremely positive. The program provided the exact kind of guidance, accountability, and support that I needed at this transitional stage in my career. It gave me a space where I could openly discuss challenges and goals in the context of everything that has been happening in public health. Having structured mentorship during a difficult job market helped me move forward with confidence, and I am grateful for the perspective and clarity this program brought into my professional journey.”- Vanessa L., Mentee, Cohort 3
“The SiPH Mentorship Program has influenced me to be an encourager and supporter for those who are in the public health field to find their niche and continue to encourage them to reach their goals and dreams professionally and personally. Being a mentor in this program has motivated me by becoming a stronger motivator. Also, my mentee motivated me because I was able to observe her being consistent and intentional while focusing on her short and long term goals. We were able to motivate and encourage one another which makes the program so rewarding and inspirational.”- Cheryl P., Mentor, Cohort 3
